INTERVIEW WITH MRS. MARYAM MACKSON NWOGA

Intro: Mrs. Maryam Mackson Nwoga is a young entrepreneur who believes in the value of hard work and dignity in labour. She is also a coach in the field of entrepreneurialship. She finds fulfilment in mentoring people to achieving desired returns on investment in their respective businesses.

Highly philosophical and principled, Maryam does not compromise on core moral values even in the market places of life.

A pious christian and a devout Catholic, Maryam lives her faith beyond words.

Newly married, Maryam holds the opinion that women should always support their husbands financially and otherwise in order to ease the family burdens.

Based in Lagos, Nigeria, this young, charismatic and cheerful lady granted this interview with Global Achievers Media.

GAM: Can we meet you?

MARYAM: I am Mrs. Maryam Mackson Nwoga. I hail from Ekwuoma in Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. I am the first child of my father amongst nine children and I am the second child of my mother out of six. I grew up with my Aunt (my mother’s older sister). I had my primary education at Adiaha Obong Nursery and Primary School, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State. I attended Mary Immaculate Girls’ Juniorate, Iwuru, Biase Local Government Area  of Cross River State for my secondary education. Thereafter, I proceeded to the Cross River University of  Technology where I earned a B.Sc., in Mass Communication. I served with the Nigerian Television Authority, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State as a News Reporter and Presenter during the one year mandatory National Youth Service scheme. I have a professional diploma from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in Lagos. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in Performance Studies from the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan. Now, Ph.d is on my mind. (smiles).

GAM: How were your growing up days like?

MARYAM: I grew up in a strict environment. There was no time for frivolities. I also started behaving maturely from a tender age because my Aunt was a disciplinarian and she was the first female graduate in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State. She was a single mum and quite close to God. She instilled those qualities in all of us she trained then as her biological and foster children and she was a super amazing philanthropist. She is still alive. My background is polygamous in nature. Traveling was also a regular thing for me. During my university days, I stayed with my uncle (my mother’s older brother) and family. While on holidays, I always traveled to see my Dad in Kano.  When my Dad relocated to Ibadan, I started travelling to Lagos to see my Mum and Ibadan to see my Dad and back to Calabar for studies. Shortly before marriage, I stayed with my uncle and family (my mother’s younger brother) Hon. Justice Peter Odo Lifu. I never really had time for anything that would distract me. In all, the experiences I had growing up helped shaped me into who I am today.

GAM: What really do you love to do?

MARYAM: I love to read, surf the net, travel, watch and read interviews of influential people in the society and I love networking with people.

GAM: Can you say something about your occupation?

MARYAM: I am an entrepreneur. I coach interested people on how to generate substantial income to fund their new or existing projects. I try as much as possible to provide assistance and support as well. We are in the era of connected economy, for every small business owner the potential for value is created by making and strengthening connections.

GAM: What is the motivation behind what you do?

MARYAM: Helping others and a better future. To see change in people lives, to meet target and goals and overcome challenges.

GAM: Can you tell us your perception about the media world?

MARYAM: The Media are power tools for disseminating information. They can be very educating and entertaining. But the effects can be hostile as well. Whether film, television, radio, print or the internet, we are in the age of information overload. I think people should be selective of what they expose themselves to because the media can be either used positively or negatively. They can make us think in a particular way. Also, they can influence public opinion and change our perceptions. For the social media, I would say with the proliferation of social media platforms, people should be conscious and careful of what they put out there, because it could be used for or against them in future.

GAM: What is your idea about entrepreneurship?

MARYAM: It is the capacity and willingness to develop, organise and manage a business venture along with any of its risk in order to make profit. Entrepreneurs never think of themselves as victims. They train their minds to problem-solve every issue that crosses their paths. Entrepreneurship gives you the freedom to pursue your own vision and the control and flexibility you have over your own vision and finally the sense of pride and fulfillment in accomplishing things. Entrepreneurs are not naturally born but nurturally made. Someone said, “Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart. It is for the brave, the patient and the persistent. It’s for the overcomer.”

GAM: What are some of the challenges you have encountered so far in the business world?

MARYAM: For me, it is about trust and conviction. People do business with people they know, like and trust. And most strangers might not do business with you if you have not built some form of relationship with them over time. The kind of business I do, I prospect online most times, some join me others do not, question is what next? Those that have joined I focus on mentorship and leadership. Another challenge is better innovative culture. My team and I focus on more creative strategies and better innovation processes.

GAM: What is your favourite food?

MARYAM: I Cannot really say because I am not a “food” person. I can cook for others but I do not take food seriously. Does not sound cool but it is true. Let me just say Fried rice and salad, Afang soup and Semovita could pass as my favourites...

GAM: What about your favourite music?
MARYAM: Gospel music

GAM: What really inspires you?

MARYAM: More than anything else, I want to please God and make the most out of my life. I get inspiration in many places and spaces. I get inspired listening to people experiences. I am most inspired by the word of God that I read everyday. I also get inspired by investigating my life and knowing that I am still alive to fulfill my purpose. A bit like an archaeologist who is digging for clues. God has a reason why I am still here. I have a strong desire, confidence and enthusiasm that my goals will be accomplished no matter how long it takes. Mother Teresa would say: “Wherever God has put you, that is your vocation. It is not what we do but how much love we put into it.

GAM: Who is your role model?

MARYAM: Mother Teresa of Calcutta

GAM: Can you talk about life as a newly married woman and how did you meet your husband?

MARYAM: I would say life has been good by the grace of God. God has been super faithful. One of my friends (he’s more like a brother) uploaded two of my pictures in his opinion poll platform on Facebook. He profiled me on his platform. He posted as thus; Age: over ripe, wife material, Rev. Sister Spec. etc. My husband happens to be his friend on Facebook and his senior in high school then. My husband commented and requested the guy to hook him up with me as soon as possible and he also said “wife search Deactivated”. My husband got my mobile phone contact  on Facebook and called. Then, I was in Abuja. He called one evening and introduced himself and asked to know my origin. I was infuriated and I did not respond too nicely. I wondered why a stranger would be asking for my details. Who does that? The call ended in an unfriendly manner. Probably, he felt disappointed. I did not hear from him again until after about two weeks. One day, on my way to work in the morning, he called and I asked whom I was speaking with, he mentioned his name and I asked: “You don vex finish?" He laughed. My husband said what he read in the opinion poll that struck him was “Rev. Sister Spec." Moreover, my older brother was in the country then for his US visa interview and we were together. I asked if he knew my husband and he responded by saying he knows him very well and that they were classmates in high school. He went further to say that he knows his parents and his elder brother. My brother and my husband’s elder brother in Europe have been communicating. If my brother had made a negative comment about him, maybe, I would have withdrawn. Later, I  discovered that both families had known for some years back in the village unknown to me. I have always wanted to date for marriage and not just date. At twenty-nine, I had not dated anyone. I saw that we were compatible in some areas; we are both Catholics and Lectors which is super cool to me. We prayed and…

GAM: What are the possible ways of combining marriage and career pursuits successfully for a young woman?

MARYAM: It is a bit difficult but is very possible with determination and the zeal to make it work. You have to be prayerful and hardworking because you have to go out there and get things done because there are bills to pay (water, light, DSTV, gas, name). If left for one person without the needed  support, it would be burdensome. We need to prioritise our activities by getting first things done first; by nature we women can multi-task. Have the ‘it-must-work” mentality and make effort to do the needful at all times whether at work or at home.

GAM: Can you mention a few people who have been sources of encouragement to you?

MARYAM: In terms of religion, Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary. In terms of my family, my Aunt, Madam Anthonia Ofie Lifu, I see her as my senior mother. My mother also grew up with her.  She makes effort to feed and train other people children. She is very selfless. Most times, I follow the principles she has laid. Those principles have taught me how to live in the society. I am a product of her efforts. In business area,  Aliko Dangote (GCON), remains a great source of encouragement.

GAM: What advice do you have for other youths?

MARYAM: I would advise youths to be focused and get their priorities right. There is a better life to be lived. It is not only about the present life you are living now but the beautiful future ahead. Do not always worry about what others are doing or not doing or what your enemies are up to, be more concerned about the activities of God. Always, remember that life is spiritual. Pray and watch God fix things. To wear the crown you must pass through the cross. To get to the promised land, you must pass through the wilderness. Pay the price now and enjoy later. Muhammad Ali said “I hated every minute of training, but I said, don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion”. Everyday is a great day, use it wisely. Always remember, it is not over until you win. Never underestimate the power of prayer.

GAM: What really do you want to be remembered for?

MARYAM: I want to be remembered as a phenomenal woman, highly extra-ordinary and someone who impacted on lives positively.

Four die in mid-air plane collision in Australia

Four people died after two small planes crashed mid-air at a regional airport in Australia, then Police said.

The incident took place near Mangalore Airport, some 120 kilometres north of Melbourne on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to two separate crash scenes.

It is believed that two aircraft collided mid-air before crashing,’’ Victoria Polices leading Senior Constable, Kendra Jackson, said in a statement.

Two occupants in each aircraft have died at the scenes.

The four persons are yet to be identified.’’

Later, another police officer at the scene clarified that the two aircraft collided mid-air, but were not incinerated, before crashing to the ground.

One plane almost certainly crashed immediately and the other plane crashed about two kilometres north from here and both were extensively damaged prior to colliding with the ground,’’ Peter Koger, a local area commander, told reporters.

Police said the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) have been notified.

CASA said one of the planes was a Piper PA-44 Seminole twin-engine registered to a local training centre, while the second was a privately-owned Beech Travel Air D95A.

Police, CASA and ATSB are all currently investigating.

Nigerians in diaspora can't vote until we amend the constitution. - Gbajabiamila

Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, in Nigeria, says that constitutional amendment is needed before Nigerians in diaspora can be allowed to vote.

Gbajabiamila said this at the Diaspora Voting Stakeholders Workshop in Abuja.

He said that millions of Nigerians, who resided outside the country, had as much a stake in the present and future of Nigeria as those who lived in the country.

Nigerians abroad use their resources to develop businesses and support family members here at home; they invest in their communities and support national development, so it is not strange that they are seeking to participate in the electoral process.

But, before allowing diaspora voting, there is a need to plan well by first understanding the nuances, intricacies and the hurdles in front, before considering diaspora voting if Nigeria will get it right.

I was the principal officer when this bill came up in the 7th assembly and I shut the Nigeria in diaspora voting bill down.

I did that for reasons the house came to understand; the language of the constitution is black and white and it states that you can only vote if you are resident in Nigeria.

So, bringing a bill for diaspora voting at that time was a wrong move because you cannot use a bill to amend the constitution and it was on that basis that we could not take that bill.

I am not proud of it but it was a necessity and someone had to take the responsibility; I am for diaspora voting, but all I am saying is that we have to do it right, so for that bill to stand, the constitution has to be amended first,’’ he said.

Gbajabiamila said that there was need to check if Nigeria was ready for diaspora voting because the elections conducted here come with a lot of issues and many litigation, afterward.

Our elections here are not yet perfect, so how do we deal with diaspora voting? here, we consistently have litigation after elections, so how do we deal with that in diaspora voting?

There are issues with diaspora voting, for instance, which of the elections will they participate in and which court will they eventually go to in case of litigation after elections?

EFCC begs UK govt., to extradite Diezani Alison-Madueke

Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has appealed to the Government of United Kingdom (UK) to extradite the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke to account for alleged missing of $2.5 billion in her ministry during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Magu, at media briefing in Kaduna on Monday, ahead of the Tuesday passing out parade of EFCC trainees at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), said personnel of the Commission were trained to, shoot and kill corruption in Nigeria, so we cannot be challenged by any threat.

Fielding questions from reporters, the EFCC boss said Diezani has stolen so much money that she needed to be extradited to the country to return the money back to the Federal Government.

According to him: I was in London this year, we did investigation together with the UK team, and anywhere I go I always call for extradition of corrupt Nigerians to return back the money.

This woman has stolen so much, not less than 2.5 billion dollars, but unfortunately she has generation of looters who are supporting her. This is not good.

We are in touch with the international community, she is under protective custody, otherwise, we would have arrested her, return her to Nigeria.

He however, said corruption is surmountable, pointing out that in 2019, a total of 1,218 convictions were secured by the Commission.

The EFCC boss also added that in January this year, 28 convictions were effected, involving billions of dollars and pound sterlings.

We will not allow corruption to work here in Nigeria because it is destructive and disastrous. We blocked several accounts.

Boko Haram rejects FG ransom for Leah Sharibu

Boko Haram insurgents allegedly rejected the ransom offered by the Federal Government for the release of Leah Sharibu, the only Dapchi schoolgirl still held hostage out of the 110 students kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorist group from the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, in 2018.

This was reported by Daily Trust who gathered from sources within the presidency on Sunday and reported on Monday, February 17, 2020.

According to Daily Trust report, after taking weeks to complete one line of message between the FG, the terrorists and third parties, the Boko Haram who had demanded a specific sum of money from the government, changed their minds just when the FG was about to deliver the ransom and held on to Sharibu instead.

"While the Federal Government remains strongly committed to securing the release of Leah and all other identified and unidentified abductees, by any means necessary, the terrorists chose much earlier after Leahs abduction to use her to fan religious embers and cause devastating division in the country. And that was why the terrorists rejected the ransom government security agencies prepared to pay for Leahs release. a source said.

The source further disclosed that the federal government have been encouraged by top presidential officials to remain actively engaged with the channels of communication with the negotiators until both parties can reach a positive resolution because the president has set a firm target and resolve to ensure the freedom of Leah and others by any means necessary, the source said.

ASUU threatens strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike, describing the federal government as a serial defaulter and bad example for youths.

According to the union, the Muhammadu Buhari-led government has eroded the trust the people initially reposed in him to reposition the educational system.

Addressing newsmen after its Congress, the Chairman ASUU University of Ibadan Chapter, Professor Deji Omole, lamented that despite efforts at making Nigeria great through education, successive administrations have positioned themselves to make Nigeria retrogressive.

According to Omole, the union is not happy with government over its consistent failure to fully implement any of the agreements reached with the Union.

According to him, the main conflicting areas are unfulfilled 2009 agreement, 2012 Memorandum of Understanding, 2013 Memorandum of Understanding, 2017 Memorandum of Action and 2019 memorandum of Action.

Omole maintained that the federal government has been paying lip service to funding public education saying that government has failed to honour the sustainable funding agreement it reached with the Union.

The ASUU boss listed the areas in dispute to include payment of outstanding balance of earned academic allowance up till 2018, unpaid annual salary increment, failure to activate the visitation panels to varsities and failure of government to commence renegotiation team.

“Government is untrustworthy. They are paying lip service to everything including Education. Things are going worse than before. Their policies are ill-conceived hence creating more problems than they can solve. Our members are being mobilised. They are to be at alert.

“This Government is wicked. They are impoverishing lecturers. With meagre amount being paid, some departments now beg lecturers to donate paper to run government business. IPPIS is a distraction. They should honour our agreements to avert strike, ” ASUU said.

CAN lambasts Buhari

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lambasted Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari while describing his statement as false and provocative.

In a statement in Abuja by the National Director, Legal and Public Affairs CAN Evangelist Kwamkur Vondip, said: “The Christian Association of Nigeria notes with pains the President Buhari’s unfounded, false, provocative and misleading assertion that 90% of Boko Haram victims are Muslims. On reading this misleading and provocative statement coming from the number one citizen of the country, one will hardly believe that the President understands the difference between the real victims and perpetrators of the heinous crime against the Church and humanity.

“No wonder the BokoHaram and other terrorists get more FG attention in the name of rehabilitation and de-radicalization than the victims who lost their lives, loved ones including those military officers at war front and those living in communities and the Internationally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camps.

“First of all, it’s so disappointing to hear the President trying to justify which religion is suffering most from the grievous attacks of the terrorists. Are we into any competition with the number of the victims? Is there any life that should not be precious to Mr President.

“What is the source of Mr President’s records? He should bring out his records with figures and the Christians will present theirs! Is he calculating the figures of the killed terrorists brandished by security chief as Boko Haram killed at operations?

“We are so sure that even if Mr President combine the number of Muslims victims plus the number of the terrorists killed by the army, it cannot be up to half the number of the Christian victims of the insurgents.
“Now who are the victims? Or why do we know that Christians are the victims? For the purpose of those that are ignorant of happenings in Nigeria. Boko Haram from the onset did not hide their mission and targets.

“From their original name, the video recordings and newspapers reports on their operations confirmed this facts. The sole purpose of Boko Haram is the killing of Christians and Islamisation of Nigeria.

“They clearly stated that they were going to fight both government institutions and Muslims who will not cooperate and support the project. The did not stop in Nigeria but have gone ahead to partner with other international terrorists who share the same objectives with them like the Al-kaida, ISIS and the like”.

The religious body added: “Boko Haram has wiped away all Christian communities in most Local Governments of Borno, Adamawa, Yobe to mention but a few.

“Almost all the Christian Communities in Northern States have fallen victims of the insurgents. What about the repeated attacks on Southern Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa and most of the States of the middle belt?
“On attacks on Mosques and Muslims, it’s true that some Muslims have fallen victims of Boko Haram but those victims are few Muslims who speak against the activities of Boko Haram. I am sure they are not likely to attack Mr President because his statements and that of his aides of recent particularly this one suggest gross compromise.

“On the issues of school girls of Chibok and Dapchi, is it not surprising to Mr President that the Chibok girls who where abducted since in 2014 are yet to be found and return as he promised Nigerians yet the Dapchi girls who were abducted within his regime have since been returned with the exception of Leah Sharibu who was retained because of her faith?

“Nigerians need to know if they have not known the reason why Presidency could not pay ransom to rescue Chibok girls, it is because 80%.

The leadership of the association called on the president rise up to his responsibility of securing lives and properties.

Wake up, Buhari! Catholic Bishops thunder...

Catholic Bishops of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the security challenges in the country.

The Bishops urged President Buhari to“wake up and do more than pay mere lip service to the issue of security in Nigeria.”

This was contained in a statement signed and issued by the president of the province and Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin.

The statement read: “Things have become much worse. Nigeria is in security dire-straits. Only a few Nigerians in any part of the country can sleep with two eyes closed.

“Nigerians are being slaughtered daily by terrorists, criminals and so-called herdsmen on the roads, in their farms and even in their homes.

“With the security architecture in Nigeria seemingly on auto-pilot, the country is clearly drifting and needs decisive action to restore professionalism and effectiveness.”

Japan quarantines cruise ship for coronavirus tests

More than 5,300 people have been quarantined on two cruise ships off Hong Kong and Japan amid concerns passengers and crew were inadvertently exposed to the Wuhan coronavirus by infected passengers.

People aboard both ships are being given health screenings, and those with suspicious symptoms are being tested for the virus that has quickly spread throughout mainland China and beyond.

Concerns about potential infection among thousands of passengers at sea exposes the vulnerability of cruise ships to viral illnesses, like the coronavirus. The threat also raises questions about the durability of Asia's booming leisure cruise industry, which counts the elderly as among its most loyal customers.

Older people are especially susceptible to the Wuhan coronavirus -- China's National Health Commission said that 80% of all fatalities in mainland China were over the age of 60.

Gates Foundation Announces $100 Million For Coronavirus Response

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged to commit up to $100 million for the global response to the novel coronavirus epidemic that has claimed nearly 500 lives.

The funding will be used to strengthen detection, isolation and treatment efforts, the foundation said, including protecting at-risk populations and developing vaccines and diagnostics.

Gates Foundation CEO, Mark Suzman, said: Multilateral organizations, national governments, the private sector and philanthropies must work together to slow the pace of the outbreak, help countries protect their most vulnerable citizens and accelerate the development of the tools to bring this epidemic under control.

The foundation said it would direct $20 million to organisations like the World Health Organisation, the US Centers for Disease Control and Protection, the National Health Commission of China and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

A further $20 million would be allocated to help public health authorities in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, regions which have been disproportionately affected by recent epidemics like the H1N1 (swine flu) pandemic of 2009.

The foundation also pledged up to $60 million to accelerate the discovery, development and testing of vaccines, treatments and diagnostics for the virus.

Lesbian Group files lawsuit against Corporate Affairs Commission

A Lesbian group has dragged   the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) over failure of the organisation to acknowledge and register the group.

Pamela Adie, an activist of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer (LGBTQ) movement sued CAC in 2018 for refusing to register Lesbian Equality and Empowerment Initiative, a non-profit organisation. She lost the case.

However, she remains unfazed as she files an appeal against the commission arguing that the right to freedom of association should be enjoyed by every Nigerian regardless of their sexual status.

This has formed the basis of her argument to ensure the lesbian group gets registered in Nigeria.

NOTICE OF APPEAL FILED IN THE CASE OF PAMELA ADIE vs. CAC Background:

As some of you may be aware, I applied to register a nonprofit called Lesbian Equality & Empowerment Initiative(LEEI) but was denied by the Nigerian govt. agency.

Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC), because it said Lesbian was offensive. I felt this was an infringement of my constitutional Right to Freedom of Association. My team and I filed a suit against CAC in 2018 at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

In the same year, the Honourable court delivered a judgment in favour of CAC and cited the discriminatory Section 4 of the Same Sex Marriage(Prohibition) Act of 2013 as a reason for denial of my constitutional right to Freedom of Association.

As law abiding citizens of this great country, Nigeria, we are pursuing all available legal options and have filed a notice of appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal in Abuja, Nigeria. This marks the beginning of the appeal process.

I thank everyone who has supported our pursuit for justice and fairness as we follow due process to ensure that the constitutionally guaranteed right to Freedom of Association is enjoyed by EVERY Nigerian.

Thank you. Pamela Adie

'Arrest Oshiomhole now'
Edo government orders...

The Edo state government has called on the Inspector General of Police to arrest the National Chairman of All Progressive Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, for "holding rallies and constantly creating security breaches in the state."

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, the Deputy Governor of the state, Philip Shauibu, said nobody was above the law and that nobody disobeyed Oshiomhole directives when he was governor.

" I am in Abuja to meet with the Inspector General of police. I have a petition to the IGP and Director of Department of state services to the effect that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole be arrested by the police and DSS for the breakdown of order that he has constantly perpetrated in Edo state. We banned rallies, the Inspector General of police in a letter also suspended rallies. He disobeyed the orders of the state government, the IG and feels that he is above the law.

“For us, we have officially come now to drop our petition with the IG to the effect that Oshiomhole is not above the law. He should be arrested for violating the state government order.

“He was a governor before and he knows that nobody violated his orders as governor, because it is not about him, it is about the state. When everybody disobeys laws, then the country becomes a Banana Republic. God forbids.

“That is why we are saying that the IG and the DG of DSS should arrest him and interrogate him for breaching the peace and disobeying government orders and security orders for rallies.

“For us, when the suspended national chairman of the party continually disobeys the law; when opposition party chairmen do same, he becomes a reference point.

“That is why I am here on behalf of the state government to submit a petition to the IG to the effect that the suspended chairman, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole be arrested and prosecuted for breaching the peace of Edo state.”

Shuaibu denied insinuations that he and Governor Obaseki were leaving the party, saying “that statement has been coming on and on. I can categorically tell you that the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and I are in APC and we are not leaving APC.

“The party is stronger today because of the governor of Edo state and when we read such things on the social media, what we just say is that this is another fake news. We are not leaving APC. APC is our party. We formed it and we are solidly on ground to promote good governance and the governor is doing very well.

“Some people are saying because of the endorsement by the PDP and some individuals, that is a sign that we are leaving the party. No. They should read it the other way.

“That is a sign that even other parties are accepting and agreeing to the fact that the governor of Edo state is working and he should be emulated and that is why he is having the endorsements.

“This is the first time the APC and non-APC people are endorsing the governor and I think it should be a pride to everybody. So, when you talk about the leaving the party, it is just one of those guys trying to create a problem.”
