'I have no knowledge of interior ministry' -
Nigerian Minister expresses ignorance...
Newly inaugurated Minister of interior
ministry in Nigeria, Rauf Aregbesola says he has no knowledge on the modus
operandi of the ministry.
Expressing ignorance in his speech at the
ministry shortly after inauguration, he said: "My relationship with the
ministry is distant. What I know about the ministry is what I read in the
newspapers." Aregbesola laments.
The Minister immediately instructed the
Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Barr. Georgina Ehuriah, to take charge of
the ministry until he formally takes over on Monday.
Meanwhile, the opposition Peoples
Democratic Party has described the new Cabinet Ministers inaugurated by
President Muhammadu Buhari as "recycled foot-travellers. According to the opposition,
" the President assembled a team made up people indicted for corruption
and treasury looting.
Rauf Aregbesola is a former Governor of
Osun state whose tenure critics said was "characterised by owing of workers
salaries, huge debts to contractors and
lack of life transforming projects."
